The key word for Bible study

Reading the Bible is more than just reading the words on the page. If you are going to understand the author's intent of their gospel or letter or whatever then you are going to have to ask questions of the text. And there is no better question to ask then "why?". "Why did the author say this?" "Why did that phrase follow that statement?" "Why is this letter written and how does this section fit in?". The word why is one of those words that helps you see the forest for the trees in your time in the word.

It's much more easy to ask the question "why," rather than answering it.

Good questions for Bible reading.

True! And one of the most refreshing things about the Bible is that you couldn't make it up. It's from real writers, real experience. If someone wanted to create a religion, they would come up with a far different type of book... t's crossed, i's dotted in the way we think we want them.

Hold on. I think I feel the making of a new "sacred" text welling up inside me—except people won't know it's actually religious fiction. Wait a minute, I think the Joseph Smith already did that.
